Coronavirus: Beaver Lake reopens to public

ASHEVILLE - Beaver Lake, the privately owned recreation area off Merrimon Avenue, has reopened to the public, according to a May 13 announcement via Facebook. 

Beaver Lake features a system of trails and and abuts the Elisha Mitchell Audubon Society's Beaver Lake Bird Sanctuary

The Bird Sanctuary closed its parking lot March 24 due to coronavirus concerns, according to its website.

As ever, guests at Beaver Lake require a permit to fish, boat or walk their dog on the grounds. 

Mail-in copies of permit applications are available at the Beaver Lake Warden's office, the announcement said, or at thelakeviewpark.org.
